Austrian Art Deco Egyptian Revival Plique à Jour Winged Scarab Brooch Circa 1930 Hallmarked fully for assay inAn exceptionally well crafted Egyptian Revival Plique Jour and Marcasite brooch depicting the Egyptian sacred winged scarab Khepri. Khepri represented the rising and moving of the morning sun and is therefore known as the Sun God. Crafted from 935 Silver, in either Austria or Germany, around 1930 or thereabouts, and centred with on oval green cabochon quartz with the scarab legs holding a single marcasite each in an offering to the Sun.
